One I read for insight, the other I read for
fun deeper insight. First, there’s Fred Reed’s blog talking about economics in general, but with a nod to self-driving cars. Fred’s columns are many things, but never dull.
Then a week later, The Economist has a column about the development and deployment of these wee beasties. Auto-automobiles (dibs on first naming rights). One speaks to the technological breakthrough, the other speaks to the potential social cost.
These two columns work well together. The good versus the evil. The mastery of humans over machines and the rule of machines as we are subjugated to them.
